The “Excellence in Research Award” was first initiated in 2016. This award recognizes an investigator who has made outstanding contributions to physiological research and has been an active and committed member of PSNZ. This prize is awarded every two years for the best researcher at sub-professorial levels (Associate Professor, senior lecturer, and senior research fellow) who have a minimium of 8 years of research experience post‑PhD.

 

How to Apply:

At the time of abstract submission you will need to indicate whether you want to be considered for the Excellence in Research Award. Please contact and send an application consisting of the following to A/P Rajesh Katare, secretary of the PSNZ (rajesh.katare@otago.ac.nz). THIS AWARD IS NOT AVAILABLE IN 2019.

  1. one page summary of the significance of the research and evidence of active participation in PSNZ.
  2. Detailed CV including all the publications.

 

After Application:

  • Applications will be assessed by a Committee appointed by PSNZ Council and the winner will be selected based on the CV, scientific achievement and their active role in PSNZ
  • Winner will be invited to deliver a 30-minutes presentation at the Society’s annual meeting
  • Winner will receive a certificate and a cheque for $500 at Society’s annual dinner
  • No award shall be made if none of the applicants merits such recognition
