MedSci 2008 announced

MedSci 2008 will be held in Queenstown from 25-28 November this year. The meeting will involve the following groups: NZ Society for Endocrinology, the Physiological Society of New Zealand, Anaesthetics Research Group of New Zealand (ARGONZ) and Immunet. It is also expected that up to 30 scientists from the Bioimaging Society in Japan will attend.

The theme of the meeting is "Images of Medical Science: Insights into Health and Disease" and keynote speakers include Akihiro Kusuki, Professor of Biophysics, Institute for Frontier Medical Sciences, Kyoto University, Japan. Professor Kusuki has developed novel fluorescence imaging techniques for observation and manipulation of single molecules in the plasma membrane of living cells.

The programme will feature symposia on functional imaging, immune regulation, cardiovascular monitoring and modelling, visualisation of neuroendocrine cell function and muscle wasting.
