Dr Vijay Rajagopal of the Auckland Bioengineering Institute has joined the PSNZ council as website content editor.
Dr Rajagopal is a Research Fellow at the Auckland Bioengineering Institute. He completed his PhD in modelling breast biomechanics towards creating new tools for assisting clinical diagnosis of breast cancer. While he continues to work in this field, his primary interests are in modelling cardiac cell structure and function in collaboration with colleagues in the Dept. of Physiology, University of Auckland and the University of California San Diego.
Dr Rajagopal's goal is to make the PSNZ website an informative and useful site for students and scientists of PSNZ that enables them to network, collaborate and be up to date on all physiological research in New Zealand. "With the help of fellow members of the PSNZ, I hope to make a real contribution towards making a more collaborative, and well connected group of scientists who can tackle the current challenges in physiology."
